
Entry Requirements:
Entries open on May 15, 2023, and will close at 11:59pm EST January 15, 2024

- It is never too early to submit entry form

- Entries will be accepted through our Niagara Modern Quilt Expo website.

- No Limits on the number of quilts each entrant is permitted submit.

- An entry form must be completed for each of the quilts being entered.

- Entrants will also be asked to provide 1 photo for each quilt entered.

- The photo should show the entire quilt top laid out or hung flat (quilting/binding does not have to be completed. Please ensure the photo is well lit, focused and of high quality.

- Successful entrants will be notified by February 29, 2024, by email if their quilt(s) are accepted.

- Quilts will need to be received via coordinated drop off point on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM. Alternate Arrangements to be make prior to the show with either Dorothy Holdenmeyer or Stephanie Baisley

- Quilts will be hung on May 2, 2024, and the show is open to the public on Friday, May 3, 2024, and Saturday, May 4, 2024. Quilts will be available for pickup on Saturday, May 4, 2024, after show closing. Alternate Arrangements to be make as indicated on the entry form.
Eligibility:

- The entrant must a member of NMQG at the time of submitting the entry form.

- The ENTRANT must have actively participated in the construction and or quilting of the entry.

- All the people who worked on the quilt, paid or not, must be credited.
Quilt requirements:

- Quilt dimensions must be in inches. The size of the quilt is very important This helps with the floor and display planning

- Quilts must not measure more than 94” x 94”.

- Quilts must meet the following requirements: they must have three layers (backing, batting, and top), joined together with stitching or tying, and have a finished edge with a binding or facing along the edges.

- Quilts must include a sewn-on label including the entrants name, address and phone number. (Label provided by NMQG)

- Quilts should be clean and in good condition.

- Each entry must be in its own provided plastic bag. – N0, PAPER BAGS OR POOL NOODLES! NMQG will provide the bags.

- NMQG considers the ENTRANT to be the owner of the quilt.

- Quilts must include a hanging sleeve.
Running the quilt show:

- NMQG Quilt Show is a non-juried quilt show.
-
- NMQG reserves the right to reject any quilt misrepresented in the photos or design credits during the entry process and to reject any quilts that are in poor condition when received and seen in person.

- NMQG and NMQG sponsors and volunteers are not liable for any loss, damage or destruction of quilts or exhibition items however such loss damage or destruction is caused, including any negligent act or omission, fault or cause. Insurance cover, if desired, is the responsibility of the entrant.

- The decisions of the show organisers are final.

- Registration labels will be provided at the April 2024 guild meeting or mailed to the entrant. The registration labels must be placed as follows: On back of each quilt, in the lower right corner (as viewed from the back) and on the protective plastic bag. Use safety pins to attach both labels.
- Insurance for your quilts and pop-up shop items is your own responsibility.
Press and Social Media:

- The NMQG and NMQG sponsors reserve the right to photograph quilts for their records and to use those photographs for publicity (including online and in social media) and for other appropriate purposes.

- Images and reports may also appear in various news, craft and art publications, both online and in print.

- Visitors to the NMQG will be permitted to photograph the quilts and post them online or in social media, provided the quiltmaker/s are acknowledged.
